I am so happy I decided to paint this horned viper. Reptilian eyes are a great fit for gold leaf because the leaf already resembles the texture in their eyes. I really enjoyed painting the shiny scales of the snakes face and capturing the out of focus scales behind its horns. This piece measures at 4“ x 4“ and, like all the other pieces in the series, has a sawtooth hook attached to the back.
